Compromised?
Are we compromised? Have we no righteousness that reflects on their corruption? – Leonard Ravenhill
Saturday was about as random as “Chocolate Rain” I went to the chiropractor to get my back straighten out. I can’t feel my knots, or the shooting pain down my leg anymore. All that hurts is my lower back. And that pain is on and off. When I got home, I went to different places and bought plants with m mom then we went to Cold Stone and had ice cream.I couldn’t finish it so I gave the rest to my dad when I got home.
I went for a walk later that evening. It was very nice out. My walk was shorten by a dog sitting on a front porch. I wasn’t sure if it was tied up and I didn’t feel much like running. So I turned around and swiftly walked the other way.
Yesterday, I went to church in the morning, the sermon was on a few of the attributes of God. I couldn’t play with or pick up any of the kids. Silas tried a couple of times. Zipporah said that I am no fun when my back is hurt. I went to the Cook’s house after church. After we ate my back began to bother me. The rocking chair I was sitting in wasn’t holding up my ice pack very well. Julie said that I could lay on the floor, I was hesitant for a split second, but then I figure that the Cook’s are more like family to me, so I got comfortable on the floor.
Then there was the issue of getting back up. Julie and Aaron explained it to me a couple of times. I started laughing really really hard, when Mr. Cook came into the living room and had a comment. I was quite entertaining for about three minutes. Aaron even got down on the floor to show me. But I was too nervous about hurting my back. I managed to get up after all of that.
After we went for a walk, Amy, Julie, Betsy, Brian and I all went to Aaron’s house to have ice cream. Most of us had cherry ice cream. Betsy had a Klondike bar.
Then I went with them to their church.
Mr. Cook was preaching. He talked about John the Baptist, the old covenant and Jesus, from John 3.
The Cook siblings have very interesting conversations. Sometimes, actually most of the time there will be more than one over lapping the rest. At first this racked my brain a little. I didn’t know who to pay attention to, because in my family we rarely have multiple conversations at the same time on account of our family size. I was telling them last night that is why sometimes I don’t talk because I don’t know when it is my turn! Only recently I have been able to carry on a conversation while overlapping another. I start out quietly though.
I also met their cousins again, and their Uncle Wayne and Aunt Gera yesterday. After church we went to the Byler’s house for fellowship.
My back is doing well this morning, I can reach itches that were bothering me last night, stretch to a certain point and reach for my coffee on the nightstand. Thank you for your prayers!
My Jesus.
Which Jesus do you follow? Which Jesus do you serve?
If Ephesians says to imitate Christ, why do you look so much like the world?
Who is this that you follow?
This picture of the American Dream?
If Jesus was here would walk right by on the other side?
Or would you worship at His Holy Feet?
Pretty blue eyes, pretty brown hair and a clear complexion.
Is how you see Him as He dies for your sins, sometimes I doubt we would recognize Him.
Not a poster child for American prosperity, You see I’m tired of living for success and popularity.
You said to live like You to love like You.
I want to be like my Jesus.
Thank You.
Thank God for His Word without it I would be lost.
Thank God for friends without them I would be lonely with no accountability.
Thank God for Jesus without Him I would be living life for me.
Amanda came up with a possible reason to why my hip and back are hurting. Due to my weightloss I probably carry myself the way I used to when I was heavy. My body is used to having extra to carry!

Rock hopping in Narnia at Cedar Campus.

The water! We are close!

The bugs were really bad up there.

Not the greatest picture of my rock hopping, oh well.

I’m not too sure what we are doing in this picture.

Nikki and I. It must have been red shirt day.

Sights and Sounds of Higgins Lake.
There is an old church building up North in the Roscommon area. On the corner of a dirt road and concrete one.
The old church building has additions to it. A kitchen, bathrooms, upstairs bunks and down stairs bunks.
Amid the laughing and screaming with delight in an intense game of fuseball, there are many distinct sights and sounds that you will only experience at Higgins Lake Christian Church Retreat Center. Thankfully this time around we have had no renditions of “You Are My Sunshine.”
To name a few…
If you are a sleepy girl and decide that ‘just a few more minutes’ curled in a sea of fleece tie blankets is worth it, then you might get woken up by a youth pastor knocking on the sliding glass door. This will be followed by other young ladies coming to their friends’ rescue by beating said youth pastor with shoes.
If you have the pleasure of being friends with Dotty the Bipolar bear you already know that if she wants you to wake up, you WILL wake up. Her boyfriend made the mistake of sleeping in Sunday morning. Briana stood in the middle of the stairway calling “Jaaaaasoooon, Jaaaaaaaaaaaasoooon! Baby? Jaaaaaaason?”
“You didn’t hear her?”
“I fell back asleep.”
If you are good friend’s with any of the Webb family then you well know that despite their innocent countenances they enjoy a prank now and again. Most of the time they will get their friends in on it. This includes sticky noting the boy’s bathroom and duct taping their toilet shut, putting numbing solution on the rims of cups, to replacing whipped cream with shaving cream.
When the pranks are put away and the fuseball table sit vacant you will see many, many teens either in prayer, worshiping God, listening to a speaker, among other things.
Higgins is a special place. Like any other retreat you relax and goof off. But there is something special there. It makes you want to stay around longer and not leave right away. It has that up-north Michigan feeling that I love. A church-away-from-church if you will.
God is so good.
The Revival Hymn.
I absolutly love, love, love listening to this! I remember listening to this. I was inspired and convicted.
Good Weekend!
My weekend started Friday with getting to see Julie for the first time in weeks! She is walking with a walker and she took a step backwards, which I thought was pretty cool. She and her younger sister Libby shared some of their headcovering-reaction stories, which are always good.
On Saturday, I had my new weekly routine of venturing to the Cook’s house.
Betsy and Aaron are still pretty good friends with their ice packs.
This coming Saturday Aaron is pretty sure that they all will have enough strength to get up and do something. I sure hope so because being restricted by pain and not having strength but having ENERGY to do things would drive me batty.
Their house is one of my favorite places to go. I just walk in that house and I can feel the love even if nobody says anything. It seems like my day over there isn’t complete without a deep conversation and getting beat in whatever game we play. By the end of the night my face was hurting from all of the laughing and smiling I was doing that day.
Today Stu Roy preached instead of Pastor Rick. Because I guess Pastor was gone or something. The sermon was on obedience. I have been in need of a sermon like this. I really like listening to Stu, he is a very wise man.
After church, I carpooled over to Millington with my friend Amanda, two of her four kids-Allison(5) and Elijah(7 weeks) and another friend Jenni for Amanda Webb’s baby shower.
Amanda was so surprised to see me! She is getting so big! Her belly button is poking out from underneath her shirt. It was fun. I love baby showers!
Earlier this evening we had woman’s small group. We talked about holiness and obedience. I hung out with Elijah for a little while during the meeting. Whatever I was doing was cracking him up. I love his smiles!
Stay tuned!
God has been doing certain works in my heart that might seem odd.But after considering Noah, a man who was called by God to do something crazy-build a boat in the middle of the desert of all places-didn’t listen to the comments around him.
Have you ever searched the Scriptures and see something that pops out at you? That stirs your heart?
Solemn Assembly is tonight at church.
So stay tuned. And I will share with you what God has put on my heart.
